Here you will find all the details of our wedding reception at Villa Botanica.
Reception venue and contact details: Villa Botanica Estate- villabotanica.com.au
We chose this venue as a girlfriend of mine had been to Villa as a guest of her friends wedding and when she returned she had told me she had found the perfect place for us to get married as it was me to a T.
So when I looked up Villa Botanica I couldn't believe how much it reminded me of our own style and taste. All the gorgeous gardens and little areas to capture the most wonderful photos. All of the hand crafted Balinese themed wall hangings and amazing doors and the building itself is my favourite let alone the gorgeous aqua water back drop. Its spectacular!
Our favourite aspect of Villa Botanica was from our guests point of view as we wanted them to feel spoiled as they all spent a lot of money in travel and accommodation to spend our special day with us. So for them they arrive by bus to a cocktail on arrival to then go down to the ceremony area then once that finished we had a champagne toast.
After we all had some photos together they go on a tour of the gorgeous gardens and then off to the amazing Sea Deck for cocktails and canopies and to watch the sunset while we had our photo session.
They go to the 30 metre long verandah and this was awesome as its still outside and we could have our 5 metre long reception table and have all of our loved ones sitting together.

Favourite dishes for me was the Smoked Paprika Double Pork Cutlet with Poached Corella Pear, Pear and Cranberry Polenta and Perry Jus and for Steve it was the Duck Leg Confit with wild mushrooms risotto in pancetta with duck and muntrie berry jus and we both loved the desert the French Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée with Almond and Lavender Tulle, Native Hibiscus Flower and Strawberry Compote. Entertainment/Lighting and contact details: In house DJ from Villa Botanica does it all
Besides the first dance with my husband it would definitely be the father/daughter dance it was such a special moment for my Dad and I and we picked our song together “The Wonder Of You” by Elvis. It was a beautiful moment that neither of us will ever forget.
Our first dance was magical it honestly felt like we were the only two people on the planet and our song was “Everybody Here Wants You” By Jeff Buckley
So when I found Naomi and I stalked her on social media :) I was so impressed with her work and how creative she is and how she captured moments in time.
Once I spoke to her then I just knew in my heart she was the one for us as she fulfilled all that we wanted even though we had to fly her and her team to Airlie Beach it was totally worth it and something we will never regret. My best advice to any bride is to think about the end result, the treasured memories of your perfect day. Your day goes so fast and you put so much work into all the beautiful tiny details and you want them all documented.
I spent endless hours on social media websites, magazines especially Cosmo and wedding blogs working out what theme, feel and style that I wanted my wedding to ultimately be and for my photo's to capture. I am a very visual person so I was looking for someone who could see my vision and to capture all the main moments of our big day but also capture some phenomenal photos that you would be so proud to post on your private social media sites and hang in your home.
Your photographer and the photo album is one of the most important parts of you're wedding planning as it will end up being the only part of your day that you can hold in your hands and trust me ladies you will pour over those photo's for hours and for years to come. We definitely picked the right photographer Naomi is the best!
And our favourite photo’s of the day are the sparkler photo’s of the love heart and the word LOVE these turned out way better than we expected.

I also made a wedding website as when your having a destination wedding there is a lot of information and you have all sorts of plans over the week plus all the different travel and accommodation details it was fantastic to use this website as it was easy and you could change details if needed and all your guests had access to the information in one spot. (this is a photo of my computer so its not the best but you get the idea)

Then we went and danced the night away in the Marble Ballroom and had a chance to talk to our guests.Entertainment/Lighting and contact details: In house DJ from Villa Botanica does it all

We ended the wedding with a Lantern Ceremony to symbolise the start of our wedded future together and that was truly unique and special for us as a couple. We played the song ‘Old and Grey’ by Reuben Koops and the words from that song made it just that much more special and meaningful to us.
Having a destination wedding I really had to do my research on many photographers I was searching for a talented photographer that was creative, knew how to use light especially, someone we could trust, who was professional but still very relaxed, patient and friendly as we had our two young children as our only wedding party. And someone who could see my vision. (Not asking for much hey) And Steve’s only prerequisite was value for money the rest he left up to me. So when I found Naomi and I stalked her on social media :) I was so impressed with her work and how creative she is and how she captured moments in time.
